Here She Goes!!

Sports.

Something we always have enjoyed as a family when the girls were growing up.   Practice, games, traveling, we did it all.
I admit I was worried about Kingston and Allbri once they were old enough to start participating.
It seems Kingston was the one that could function enough to understand the games and participate accordingly.

"Mama, I wanna play...."

Those words always broke my heart for my girl.   Don't get me wrong, she is a great basketball player, soccer, and I bet one heck of a football player if given the spot.
But, I also know as she progresses in age, the playing would stop.   Maybe she would be a water girl, towel girl, still involved, just not the way she would love to be.

The Special Olympics were always something I've heard of or seen in a commercial, never knowing one day that would be Allbri's saving grace.

She has made the age requirement, met the medical approvals, and now she is registered.

Watching her jump and down, excited, showing me how she is going to "run real fast until she gets tired."

It's her turn.

It's her turn to shine.

It's here turn to hear us cheering her name.

It's her turn to be involved in her passions.

I've watched two girls play from the ages of preschool to seniors in high school.

I'm watching my son play and being involved with our community, who has welcomed him and his "quirkiness" never once questioning his ability or inability.

But now it's Allbri's turn to shine and shine she is.

Look out world, there's a new athlete awaiting to sprout her wings and fly.
